The Outsiders exhibition has now been installed at The Courtyard in Hereford, it’s essentially the same version that was displayed inside the Houses of Parliament, plus the case display and the art video. It’s a great venue and well worth a visit.

The end of a long week, much to say & so many ppl have made it poss for our community to come together & mourn ppl we’ve lost.

This is one of our candles on the railings @ St Martins - a kind of MoH calling card - but for me also a reminder of what it means to take space for what is most important.

Yesterday was the last day of our Spring Summer Summer open season and it was a beautiful one.

We cooked and shared the Uncle Clive recipe of the week in a close of season feast. (IYKYK)

Thanks to our crew of object storytellers, DMs and vols who have run another fantastic season.

Good morning. Dry & cool in Tokyo today. Doing a bit of catchup work in the office. Mentoring session online later with one of my clients in Australia. Fairly chilled but productive day in prospect.

Couple of shots from the i-Link Tower in Ichikawa for #Stunday. More in the ALT.

Stitched panorama of the view of Tokyo from the i-Link Tower in Ichikawa, Chiba. This 43floor viewing deck is one of the best views of the city on a good day. Here we see the Skytree almost dead centre in the composition. With distant Shinjuku skyscrapers behind. Mount Fuji is in the very back of the left hand side of the frame. Orangey sky. Lots of clouds. The top of Fuji is covered by clouds. Just close to sunset. Stitched panorama of the view of Tokyo from the i-Link Tower in Ichikawa, Chiba. Some artists suggested that we pin a summary of Glaze, Nightshade & other projects here. Instead, I will point them to Melissa Heikkilä's article on our lab and projects. It is the definitive story of who we are, how we got here, and why we do what we do.

The AI lab waging a guerrilla war over exploitative AI
The tools Glaze and Nightshade are giving artists hope that they can fight back against AI that hoovers internet data to train. Are they enough?

Recent wanderings in Soho & Chinatown.

Rows of red lanterns hang from buildings above a street in London's Chinatown. The Sun is caught peaking out from the left side building creating some lens flare. The sky is blue. View up towards the Raymond Revue Bar signage in Soho London during the day. A pigeon flys across the frame. An alleyway scene in London's Soho featuring a shop doorway with large image across the windows of two topless men cuddling in bed. In the middle of the alley a lime bike is fallen over blocking half the pavement and there are people standing around out doorways further down the street.

Good morning. Rainy day here in Tokyo. Both sons are down the garage where the eldest works. Fiddling about with the Subaru. Great they both share the car bug. And enjoy spending time with each other.

Wandering down in a bit, to give them some refreshments.

Photo details in the ALT.

Roof of the entrance gate to Todoroki Shrine. Love the time of year when it's covered with fallen gingko leaves, like it is here. The end cap of the roof tiles has a sakura flower pattern on it. Gingko tree arches over in the right hand background. Looking up in to the tree canopy at Akagi Forest Park in Gunma, Japan. Bright red momiji leaves make up the whole frame. The dark black of the trunks and branches behind add form and line to the composition.

there’s this weird idea a lot of people seem to have about how all of us writers and artists must secretly want to use AI and are merely resisting temptation for ethical reasons, and like, no, it’s not hard for me to resist drinking the bowl of Piss With Glass In It actually
