This is depressing. I'm editing a document to remove — em dashes (which I originally typed!) because naive folk will mistakenly think they are always a 'tell' for AI written content. They can indicate AI writing, but not always as AI uses them because people did originally.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Maybe next year if the Gaza ceasefire leads to lasting peace in the Middle East... and if he stops deploying military in his own cities... and stops sinking boats in the Caribbean... he'll have a chance.
