I know that feeling, unfortunately I also had to say goodbye to one of my best furry friends and it’s never an easy feeling to process, but welcoming gratitude reminds me of how much love he gifted me🙏🏽🎃🧡🐈

One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.

Tostada Update:

A tiny tortie kitten sitting on the very edge of a soft strawberry pink tent stretching her neck very very long because she smells FOOD. Her toes are curled around the edge and her sharp lil nails are poking out. She is FOCUSED.

I spoke up about Pierre Poilievre today and got this threat on facebook. Josh Levy tells me to watch my back.
No Josh, I will keep speaking out about building a better Canada regardless of the threats you make to me or my loved ones.

If the "good guys" are ignoring all laws, vaporizing innocent Palestinians, bombing boats in Venezuela, separating immigrant families, covering up child trafficking, etc.... How long until they set their sights on you or someone you love? 10 years? 5 years? 1 year?

Fun facts: The Ontario legislature isn't sitting today, won't be sitting for another 17 days and last met on June 5.

It's a good thing provinces don't have any responsibilities in this country.

Doug Ford is being investigated for corruption by the Auditor
Add this to the Therme nightmare, the Science Centre, no jobs, no housing, no $$ for health or housing and now rumours that his obsession with speed cameras is because his daughter got caught by them too many times?

As others, including Ireland, rush to help their citizens involved with the flotilla, here’s what Canada’s government told me of the six Canadians on board:

“The Government of Canada is not able to guarantee the safety of Canadian travelers, or to provide them with security and protection abroad.”
Screenshot of an email.

media@international.gc.ca writes:

Hi Rachel, We will get back to you asap. Thanks,

In a follow up:

Please see our response:
The Government of Canada is not able to guarantee the safety of Canadian travelers, or to provide them with security and protection abroad. The decision to travel is personal, and individuals are responsible for their own safety abroad. Global Affairs Canada (GAC) advises Canadians avoid all travel to Palestine due to the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip and the unpredictable security situation in the West Bank. More information is available on our travel advice webpage.
While the Goverment of Canada has no plans to accompany the flotilla, this does not in any way detract from Canada's position that humanitarian assistance into Gaza must be immediately scaled-up to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation. We continue to urge Israel to allow the immediate entry of UN-coordinated humanitarian assistance, via land crossings, into and throughout Gaza.
Since October 2023, Canada has committed more than $400 million in international assistance in response to the current crises in Palestine.
The immediate priority must be a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and a sustained influx in UN-led humanitarian aid. Canada is committed to continue
