Paperback copies of Dead & Breakfast next to a teal tea pot and black tea cup. The cover shows two men holding hands. On the left, a white man with graying hair wearing a suit and tie holds a cup of coffee. On the right, a shorter man with long dark hair, pale skin, and a ruffly cravat holds a goblet of blood with a silly straw. They both have vampire fangs. Behind them is a field of flowers and a large house with a cat perched on a sign that says “welcome. Over the top is the title “DEAD & BREAKFAST” the tagline “come for the vampires stay for the scones” and the byline “kat Hillis & Rosiee Thor.” The spine shows the title text in blue and the byline in red with a black cat curled around a goblet of blood with a silly straw.

my takeaway from climate week nyc is that "climate storytelling" is a little too much "we must reimagine our deepest souls in relationship to mother nature and the moral abyss of the polycrisis into which we must now stare" and not enough "ok but get a heat pump"

Just in time to get into the Halloween spirit, I’m teaching a horror writing class with Queens Collaboratory. If you’re in NYC and want to dip your toes into writing horror, this the place to do it. Tickets are $20-$25, and spots are pretty limited. luma.com/9pzyg2tm

I enjoy both the pitt & severance greatly and im glad both are getting love! both are about the unsustainable effects of violent capitalism in the workplace, both locate tenderness & connection within, both showcase their protagonists’ contradictions & complexity. unfortunately both have

Hey, did you know my queer TTRPG anthology releases in just SIX DAYS?? It's full of queer coming of age stories set around the gaming table. If that sounds up your alley, you can preorder from Always Here Bookstore to get a signed bookplate and sticker!

Book cover for This is How We Roll: A foursome of players surround a table. The DM with light brown skin and hair in a bun holds a d20 between her fingers and sits in a wheelchair. The players are a white gender nonconforming person with two toned hair and a mug that says dice goblin, a dark skinned girl with hoop earrings looking flirtatiously at the DM, and a boy with dark hair and gold hued skin wearing a sweat band in the colors of the trans flag. Above them, a large speech bubble depicts their characters: a firbolg with a dagger and bow, a blue skinned trifling in a purple dress, and a green skinned half-orc wearing heavy armor.

I won a giveaway from @rosieethor.bsky.social and recently got this beautiful book in the mail.

Only a few stories in and I'm very much enjoying it.
Copy of Why On Earth:An Alien Invasion Anthology on a patchwork quilt. The cover shows a group of people watching a saucer shaped ship crash into the ocean. A pier with a ferris wheel is visible in the foreground and the entire image is rendered in shades of purple, blue, pink, orange, red, and yellow.
