Malinda has been doing so much incredible work for the cause both behind the scenes & being a public figure for the right to read. Would love to see, I don't know, 10 donations to AABB in her name today. Be a great way to thank her for her work.

Native Organizers Alliance is led by folks I have known and trusted for many years. They have done transformational work in our communities, and their efforts have never been as crucial as they are right now. This is a time to skill-build, fortify organizing infrastructure, and build new projects.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."

Sounds about right! I think @ravenbookstore.bsky.social has exactly three signed copies of my latest, so now is your chance:
ravenbookstore.com/book/9781940...
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Literally buying one copy of a book at your local indie bookstore can mean the difference in whether they buy future books from that author.

This is so much better than my answer, which is “the bowl of raw and unwashed kale that you’re calling a salad”
The worst dish to bring to the potluck is one with unnecessary dairy or other allergens. That tablespoon of butter couldn't have been earth balance? The chopped peanuts couldn't have been on the side? Come on.

Real good thread. There's no making good economic policy w/out solidarity against oppression/exploitation. Even if you look at it only from a voter recruitment angle, beneficial economic policies are unlikely to be recognized quickly by voters for a host of reasons, but solidarity will.
You want to harness economic populism? Then get off your ass and do the difficult work of building solidarity across and through difference. That’s what makes a coalition; just look at who’s winning.

Asking people to abstract their identity away into some aggregate is a failure mode.

Wake up.
