I’ve said this before but a well written romance is the backbone of so many beloved films and tv shows across genres. If you take the romance out of HEAT you have no movie. Point Break, Brooklyn 99. A lot execs and writers now don’t understand this.
The assumption that all romance is trash for dumb people who like formulas -- that's still a thing in TV & film. A big thing. Also, like, I'm sorry, but a middle or upper class man is an asshole and is doing crimes or solving crimes? That's not a genre? MORE formulaic than a romance? HILARIOUS

Kinda surprised that no one seems to care that tear gas can be an abortifacient. I mean, there are archival papers about this which you can find by googling "tear gas abortifacient".
