Yup! We have good reasons for using NFKD earlier in that pipeline but I'm going to add an extra NFKC step at the end now. Wouldn't surprise me if a few other subtle bugs slipped through because we forgot to recombine!

Yeah, passing Korean text to various 3rd party TTS APIs and they all responded differently; one returned empty audio, one hallucinated, one had no issue 🙃

In fairness, my problem was mostly with how difficult it is to identify that your Korean string has gone through NFKD normalization because *it looks the same on screen*, you just get a bunch of downstream stuff dying for no reason.

Remember all of the ghouls who denied this was happening and did everything they could to make the problem worse from JK Rowling to Wes Streeting. The NHS who did a stitch up report to hide the growing number of suicides from trans youth on the waitlists. They should never be forgiven.
