The Milton Secondary once ran along the north shore of the Neponset River to Mattapan. The bulk of it was converted to the Ashmont-Mattapan High Speed Line in 1929, and is the Red Line branch of the same name today.

Perfect day for a loop down to Symphony Hall, out to Forest Hills, down to Mattapan, and up along the Neponset through Dorchester Shores to Southie, through the Seaport and the North End and finally home on the Community Path extension.

Low tide exposes the mudflats at Port Norfolk so you can see the remains of the wooden pilings showing just how far out the old shipping piers used to stretch. It used to be a working port!

'Wicked high tides' are coming! The moon, Sun, & Earth are in near alignment = very high afternoon tides for 9/10-12. Could lead to some coastal flooding. This event will be minor compared to the next mega tides in October.
