I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

What an absolute treasure Diane Keaton was. Her wit never tired, nor did her style.

RIP Diane Keaton
My favourite picture of her where everyone else is giving it their best Blue Steel & she looks like she’s just wandered in off the street looking super cool.
She was allowed to wear her own clothes & her wonderful personality shines out.
What a unique talent & human being.

When I interviewed her for my book Gillian Armstrong told me that the studio was interfering when they were maybe a day behind schedule filming MRS. SOFFEL and Diane Keaton called the studio and said “Leave Gil alone. She’s doing a great job.” And the studio left her alone the rest of the shoot.

"She is the dream actress that every director should have." —Gillian Armstrong

Rest in peace to the great Diane Keaton, fearless and unique, a dream actress indeed. 📷 Norman Seeff, Los Angeles, 1975
Black and white shot of Diane Keaton in a tank top with her hands behind her head. I like this photo for its simplicity; you can feel her personality.

This has been going on for years, and not just from Deadline. And yes, it's unethical and unprofessional, and no one in a position to stop it will lift a finger.
adambvary.bsky.social
I wish I was surprised that Deadline claims it asked questions that were actually asked by me and other journalists at this James Gunn press conference. No one from Deadline even *submitted questions* for it (and I know, because I moderated). This is just brazen and sad.

If he got the same shot I did yesterday, it's going to knock him on his ass so hard.

Guess who just got both the updated COVID vaccine and flu shots today? Your dear Leader Trump. Maybe you should get them too.

Sincerely, An Epidemiologist Who Told You Trump Would Get COVID Booster.

I may be the only person who's seen STARS AND BARS, but that is *objectively* a comedy and he was a goddamn goofball in it.

Could not disagree more with the Big Picture folks on their assessment that Daniel Day-Lewis “can’t possibly do comedy.” He’s fucking hilarious in ROOM WITH A VIEW *and* THERE WILL BE BLOOD! I feel like I’m going insane.

Oh, and Todd Haynes' SAFE too. Columbia Pictures getting the home-video rights to your movie could be an express ticket to limbo sometimes.

I'm gonna say Carl Franklin's ONE FALSE MOVE and DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS were acclaimed on release and then immediately forgotten, somehow; it took at least a decade for DEVIL to reclaim the respect it deserved, and even longer for ONE FALSE MOVIE.

throwing this prompt from Twitter in here. what examples you got?
tweet by @Caol_MacCormaic that reads, uncs of film twitter: what are some movies that are canonical now but were basically unknown when we were coming up? like Come and See or Possession. inversely: what are some movies or filmmakers that seem to have fallen off? (Takashi Miike comes to mind)
