All the sympathy in the world to the Post staff, who've been trying to do good work and keep the paper relevant despite leadership actively working against them. What an awful way for it to end.

He was doing a human cartoon in UNDER SIEGE less than a year before, for the same director -- it's incredible that Andrew Davis could imagine him as Sam Gerard after that.
a funny thing about this movie is that it was the beginning of a real sea change in the kind of roles tommy lee jones was able to get. prior to the fugitive, he often played the wild card in a cast — often someone unstable or untrustworthy or the like.
