If you build it they will come. OK, I didn’t so much build this bee hotel as buy it from John Lewis and stuck it up on a post near our Sunflowers, Cosmos and other insect-friendly flowers and waited … Today my patience was rewarded.

Either Zia Yusuf has been lying to the British public or he's been used as a patsy to cover for the Reform UK leaders who absolutely know who Nathan Gill is.

"I've never spoken to him, most people in the senior leadership team have never really heard of the guy." 😬

Today's #SixOnSaturday
Been a busy day. Some planting, some shopping and some catching up with an old friend, so I’m late but here is a SixferSat. *captions in alt text.

From top left, clockwise; two Acers, turning different shades. In the foreground, rusty reds and the distant one yellowy gold; a late burst of purple spikes from a Thistle; another late arrival with a red rosebud but on a bush that usually provides yellow flowers. We shall see; luscious dark purple Sedum; bright yellow centre of a Tottering-by-Gently rose in close up; another spectacular Acer in a pot cascades its dark magenta leaves over a step on the back patio.

Getting to the heart of the matter, I reckon that nature’s opulence is much better than any of the riches man has to offer. Just look at the intricate luscious beauty of this unfolding rose in our garden.
The light pink petals of an unfolding Port Sunlight rosebud give way in the centre to a mass of sumptuous darker shades that are waiting for their time in the sun. We bought this rose to remind us of our roots in the village of the same name in north west England.

is right, the bees are still buzzing. The sun came out again this afternoon and I caught this chap feasting on the Persicaria aka Kiss-Me-Over-The-Garden-Gate.

A wee bee hangs on the side of a red Persicaria flower. The background is green and leafy.

You are too honest. I’d be skewing it like crazy.🤪

Indeed. Not lacking intelligence, just grey. Mind you, the sun has just put in an appearance and it is a heady 16°C this afternoon.

Farage’s lies are easy to see through … unless you don’t want to. The BBC and the rest of the media, who want a fascist in Downing Street want us to look the other way.

A spider web shimmers in the morning light, each delicate strand adorned with tiny raindrops that glow like golden beads. The intricate pattern evokes a sense of quiet splendor, with the droplets forming luminous chains along the web’s curves and angles. Bathed in warm, shadowy light, the scene feels both enchanted and unsettling, as if the web is waiting for something in the hush. The sparkling focus and rich, layered brilliance lend a touch of spooky elegance, transforming simple grass and silk into a moment of atmospheric mystery. It’s like a natural chandelier, where every bead of dew catches the light and casts a mesmerizing glow

This photo captures a strikingly long shadow cast by a person onto a field of sunlit green grass. The shadow stretches diagonally across the image, accentuated by the golden autumn light, which highlights subtle textures in the grass and creates a warm, tranquil atmosphere. The visual effect emphasizes the low angle of the sun typical of autumn days, adding a sense of peacefulness and introspection to the scene.
