I know Trump and his minions all have sneering contempt for kids with special needs, but trust me when I say that their parents will absolutely fucking destroy anyone who messes with the special education supports to which they are entitled by law.

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

If your university will not remake itself in Marc Rowan & May Mailman's preferred image, it can expect a complete shutoff of "federal funds."

To emphasize the point Rowan says it again: "THEY NEED NOT ACCEPT FEDERAL FUNDING"

I hope this will put to rest the credulous "carrot not stick" narrative.

No school will be forced to adhere to the compact’s principles of fairness, civility, neutrality and transparency. If schools do not want to be accountable to these requirements, they need not accept federal funding.

An irony of GOP/MAGA's attacks on university sector is that, structurally, it's as close to a "free market" as you'll find in US.

There are 1000s of universities, mostly operating independently.

Unlike tech sector (or coal, oil/gas, eyeglasses, etc), market concentration is incredibly low.
