Calvin and Hobbes comic strip where Calvin asks what's for dinner, his mother replies tortellini and Calvin expresses dislike, however he is next seen reading the dictionary in an attempt to learn the meaning of the word tortellini. Tortellini is, btw, from Modena Italy.

That prediction about AI and radiology... yeah, that's how this is going to end. Now if you want to talk about having AI _*help*_ you find protein folds that you didn't know exist, yeah that might just work. AI cannot deliver a finished product.

Work extensively with MD's and PhD's (a few MPH's and MHA's too) and this is my experience too. Not sure if it's they spent so much of their life focused on developing one talent, but to the person, they are often simply lost when out of their comfort zone. Engineers are worse though.

the whole idea behind a representative democracy is that i elect people that think what i think and i can go off and watch soccer and have biblical relations with my wife and go camping and fishing.

I'm going out on a limb and say these people were never "left" they just were, and remain, unwanted and ignored. Hence their need to to pronounce why that they left: no one wanted them around nor did anyone listen to them, and when they departed no one noticed or cared. That bothers them.
