On this day in 1929, Violet King was born in Calgary. She was the first Black female lawyer in Canada and the first Black person to graduate from law school in Alberta.

Leaves are finally starting to change here in Kansas. Slow but sure. I came to my hometown thinking I would feel the nice, crisp, and cool fall air and see some beautiful colors in the trees. It has been so hot since I have been here! The leaves have just been hanging out in their summer greens! 😅

On this day in 1948, Margot Kidder was born in Yellowknife.
She rose to fame as Lois Lane in the original Superman films from 1978 to 1987. She won an Emmy, Genie and two Canadian Film Awards. An activist later in life, she died in 2018.

The image shows the Absolute World towers, a pair of twisting skyscrapers in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, illuminated by the golden light of the sun. The towers are often nicknamed the "Marilyn Monroe" towers due to their curvaceous, hourglass shape. The two towers are part of a five-building complex and were designed by MAD Architects and Burka Architects. The taller tower is 56 stories high, and the shorter one is 50 stories high. The unique design features a constant four-degree rotation per floor on one tower and a varying twist of one to eight degrees per floor on the other. The towers have received international recognition, including the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2012.

Hey! Yes. Much better now. I had to rush back to my hometown to help my mom. She had a mild heart attack. But she is so much better now. (She is coming home tomorrow.) I took a long break from social media to focus on her. But I am back now! 😊 Thanks so much for checking on me!

I was singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” today and when I got to “BISMILLAH WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO” my boyfriend (who is old enough to know better - that’s his actual era) tried to tell me the lyrics were “Miss Miller No!”

And I had to share that with you.
