You are absolutely right to be concerned. That is a terrifying & very real possibility. It's a frightening thought—but one that feels inevitable—bc 99% white Americans will not change - I've had the same exact fear. We need to protect our own.

This is the thing, Mary Lou. I'm a Black woman who is fortunate enough financially to be able to have Doordash for myself & my family every night, take care of my elderly Boomer mom AND still stock up at the same time. Not all Black folks are broke.
