It's a good question that made me think!

I just an answer that doesn't start with 'so as a kid I listened to this audio play' and then handles enough writing craft stuff to end only at the least 400 pages later.

And it'd still have the main message: It Depends, Sorry!

Because the answer is not a post, but a big book about plotting, themes, psychology & history of horror (tropes), right?

Without giving examples and making mine and other people's Sunday worse: a lot of my horror grows out of my childhood trauma and how people will look away or how abusers tell themselves they aren't, stuff that's actually own voice, regularly seems unrealistic to test readers /lh

Not that I would've been able to explain it fully at the time. But it showed me how much my brain works (better) in stories, even for abstract topics.

I took the spoor, made it sickening, hung it out to dry, and then handed it back.
He tracked me, tireless flickering past every whispered no Slipping through windows through doors I forgot to close he called it love, of course i called it a warning. yet my ribs were spoored by him Callouses blooming dark red my fingers tore at the seams of me itching to drag his scent free but one day i stepped out into light such a simple thing and he burned his breath gone no more cage. no more rot. just me.

Bei Stewpot stehen wir kurz vorm nächsten Bonusziel. Das kommt wieder uns Freischaffenden zu gute und entsprechend freue ich mich, wenn es erreicht wird. Auch für Lukas als Übersetzer und Camilla als Korrektorin, die eigentlich immer super Arbeit abliefern.
