#DeckTheHalls LOVERS

This card best represents Spencer's aunts, Anne and Sylvia. They are a married couple, so literally lovers, but also represent caring bonds and model a healthy loving relationship. They embody Spencer's alignment with his family and his values. 🧵

A much anticipated one!

We're matching up our work to the Major Arcana Tarot Cards. Tell us how your characters (or places, things, or events) match up!

Today's card is: THE LOVERS

Who or what from your writing would go on it and how does it fit?

Fan fav Junie's full name is Juniper. She prefers Junie (it was always Juniper when she was in trouble, y'know?) and it is actually really telling who calls her what & when.

On rare occasions her BF will call her Princess, usually when she's being a brat 🤷.

🤫 calls her "little bug" as in June Bug.

Virgil and Lucifer eventually have pet names for each other.

Virgil calls Lucifer "my prince" so much in book 2 it just becomes "Prince."

Lucifer tries several names out for Virgil before settling on "Sunshine".

Wren uses aliases whenever it suits her, usually bird related ones. Wren also isn't the name she was born with, but rather the one she adopted when she went into a life of crime. It feels more like her now than her given name does.

#AwesomeCharacters #ChroniclesOfTheRealms Fun fact about demons: if you're of a high-level species, you'll most likely call others by their race rather than name. A lot of characters call Ashrah "elbhyr," and she does the same, including to devils e.g. she never calls Ikalry by the name, only (1/6)

I love writing the character interaction and plot points leading to sex. I also love writing sex, but after a few pages I tend to get stuck on just how to describe things and it becomes a grind (no pun intended). I love writing aftercare, too!

Mori's actually his nickname. His legal name is Morima. He doesn't have anything against it, Mori's shorter and to the point.

Bert is a Hubert. He does not like his whole government name being mentioned and makes a point to hide his identification unless it's necessary. 😂

Whoops hit post too early on my other thread 😅

#Charagma: "Clara" and "Mem" are both nicknames, short for Clarity & Remember. Clara loves both her real name and her nickname. Mem hates both, lol. She thinks Mem sounds babyish, which isn't helpful when you want to be taken🧵

Hehe ok I have fun answers for both Mireia & Kena in #Atlantis 😁

Mireia's main nickname is Mimi, of course, which is what her sisters & bond mother Calu'u often call her (her birthmother Neiana usually uses her proper name). Not only is it a cute shortening of Mireia, it also🧵

In Bludeye Beach, Edie's full name is Edith, but it's rarely used; even if it's not vocally any shorter, she's just more of an Edie than an Edith ☺️

The REAL juicy nicknames come into play with Manny, Cat, and Alexandra 🤣

Not to sound unoriginal or anything, but I think it's the buildup for me, too. Since I tend to write slow burns, there's all that delicious yearning reaching a breaking point, and then the freedom of finally acting on feelings that have been simmering for ages.

DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE 😅🫠

I keep wanting to say I find one slightly easier than the other but it's not true. No matter which part I'm writing there, I kinda do this back and forth rhythm where I'm checking that it all feels right. I suppose though that technically >>>

Here's where I think my demisexual manifests uniquely.

The foreplay sort of is the act to me. The rest is still important, but the ramp up is crucial.

"Good Boys Don't Howl" has a lot of spice but I could see someone saying, "this is book is 90% foreplay".

I love a good build up. I enjoy writing all of it, don't get me wrong, but the build up is my personal favorite. Give me any reason to dial up the ~tension~ and get these characters in even more ~sexy situations~.

#Atlantis: Mireia doesn't know her limits at all 😂 In fact if someone tells her she can't do something, she's more likely to try it out of sheer defiance. It doesn't help that her risk-taking often pays off for her, but she does overestimate herself & make mistakes, or burn out,

Neither the protagonist nor the antagonist has any limits as far as work goes, which is unnerving for everyone around them, but also one of the reasons they get on. The protagonist does have some moral limits however, and it's up for discussion if the antagonist shares these. #AwesomeCharacters
