Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 13” x 10”

Ammonites have always been meant as a personal form of “memento mori” symbols in my art. They are cautionary reminders of our impermanence. 1/3

My friend @darkcrowind.bsky.social and I are playing Quest for Glory VGA.

It's so much fun reading and explaining the German words and names for my friend. He now knows what Zauberberg means.

We also did voices for the characters.
My best voice work might be the voice for the Hermit. 🤣

Aight, guess I'm allowed to talk about the fact that I'm writing for Gallow's Corner

🥳🥳🥳
I'm so happy to have facilitated the finding of this wonder!

GALLOWS CORNER - Coming to a Goose Butt near you soon.
My favourite part of freelance writing work is getting to research new and wonderful things that I would never normally learn about.

This is a real place in the north of England.

I remember first reading Tomonobu Itagaki's interviews in EGM in the early 2000s and marvelling at the balls on this guy. Ninja Gaiden's Xbox revival came out around then and I'll always remember this ad which embodied all of his attitude. 58 is too young to go. A real loss for the game industry.

An obscure piece of #Splatterhouse artwork most likely featured on a Japanese magazine, just in time for Halloween season. Removed a small element from the top left side, taking few liberties, applying the usual upscale/clan/retouch process. No clue on the artist.

emulator filter called gameboy advance at night which looks like this
I never had it but weirdly I had a novel spinoff of Dragon Strike that had black and white stills from the VHS.
Wife overheard our movers apparently having a geeky geezer moment over my copy of HeroQuest which they had to box up. One of them said he loved the VHS of it when he was a kid. To the best of my knowledge Hero Quest never came with a VHS so I think he may have confused it with Dragon Strike, hah.
Moving house and found the busiest character sheet ever for one of the many iterations of my first D&D character

He started out as an emo ranger suffering from PTSD who thought his dwarven wife was dead. Ended as a jolly fellow who rescued her from the Shadowfell and shot Demogorgon in the face

Geralt and Ciri eating mooncakes is not something I would've expected to see on the feed, but it ain't bad
As the harvest season ends, families gather under the full moon to share stories, laughter, and love.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all who celebrate! 🍂🌕

Trudging through the snow, encountering giant Monsters as we go! Really cool to hear music inspired by Mappa Mundi 😁
The Ice Giant! This is a track to accompany a section of a podcast playthrough @pixelgrotto.bsky.social & I did of the game he helped create, Mappa Mundi where the main character encounters a supernatural being. Tried to evoke the feel of wonder thru the sound effects & synths.

Happy 25th anniversary Eternal Arcadia, aka Skies of Arcadia, released in Japan on 5th October 2000!

One of my fave DC games. <3

I'll mark the occasion by sharing some sweet character concept sketches from its development.

Acrylic - 28" x 27"

I suspect that watching this scene come to life in Peter Jackson's movie adaptation of THE RETURN OF THE KING was as thrilling for me as any fan of THE LORD OF THE RINGS. 1/5

A while back I played around with color 3D printing and had fun making my fav Sierra characters.
You really gotta watch Freaks and Geeks; there’s a high school
Dance in the first episode that really evokes some of these feels.
Final Fantasy 1 was definitely influenced by Ultima, which had sci-fi and space travel in the first game.

On a related note, I’d also argue that the presence of a FF ninja class is due to Wizardry.

The line between “WRPG” and “JRPG” is much more blurry than they’d have you believe
"Final Fantasy before the sci-fi elements started creeping in" The strongest enemy in Final Fantasy (1987)- even stronger than the final boss Chaos- was a fully automated death robot you can find in the orbital space station you go to.
