NEW @ POP 'N' PIZZA: RIPPED FROM THE CRYPT: VOL. 1

For October, I'm digging through the vaults and resurrecting some of my old flash fiction—stories most of you have either never read or may have long forgotten since they were first published 15 years ago.

Also, Jared Leto fucking sucks and no one gives a shit to watch him for 2 seconds let alone 2 hours.

I'm perplexed at watching pundits in the trades struggling to explain Tron Ares' disappointing opening.

Was it covid? Do people just not like science fiction? etc. etc.

The main reason is pretty obvious: Tron isn't a popular franchise. Nobody's interested in nostalgia for a failed 1980s project.

"A future president, even dumber than you, will allow Qatar, the country that harbored Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the architect of the plane attacks in NY, PA, and DC today, and whose royal family will help him escape capture by the US, to build a military base on US soil to train Qataris to fly jets."

Going to see ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER today, currently preparing my bladder (and my ass) for the 162-minute runtime.

My favorite thing about the poster for 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE is that it looks like the cover art for a new A PERFECT CIRCLE record. Maynard’s gettin’ buck wild in this one, y’all.

40 years ago today this was the box office opening day double feature. What a time to be alive.

This is all Disney knows how to do now - bring back beloved legacy characters, misuse them, and in the process, horribly damage the franchises they were trying to milk dry.

Whaaat!? Really? That's very odd.

God, I love THE CROW. Like ROBOCOP, a movie about the purification of evil through righteous justice, carried out by a resurrected avenger... from Detroit. A powerful, blinding light born out of all-consuming darkness.

"Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is."

Why are all the bad things "here to stay" and all the things I love up for constant debate until they're eroded out of life altogether?
