@ceramicwombat.bsky.social sent me a set of his custom coin dice. Link to his etsy in replies.

These are cast from metal, and have a very satisfying weight to them. They also do work really well as dice, despite my initial reservations. Especialy the d10s. (Hence, Draw Steel book for background.)
Set of coin dice (d4, d6, d10/100, d12, and d20) cast in pewter and artificially aged, giving them a worn metal sheen. Each coin has slightly conical faces with flat numbered surfaces, only half of them visible on the side towards the camera. There is scrollwork between numbers resembling celtic knots. Cover of the Draw Steel rules book is used as background, and features a cast of heroes fighting monsters.

State govs are in best place to handle transfer, since they already control much of infra.

Pacific Fleet folded into CA, OR, WA and HI militias? That *would* be very funny.
quadraticink.bsky.social
Even gallows humor has limits for me, I'm afraid.

But it could still be funny even so. I'm going to try and retain a shred of optimism.
quadraticink.bsky.social
Could. Depends on who's the first to realize they can get a very good discount on a large military force by just promising to pay the troops.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with multiple extra copies of Guns of Icarus.

I don't even know how about half of these ended up here. Bundles, I guess? If anyone sees anything they like, free to good home.
Screenshot from Steam inventory. Games shown are Amnesia Dark Descent, 3 copies of Guns of Icarus, Metal Slug 3, Mirror's Edge, 3 copies of Orbital Gear, State of Decay, and 2 mystery games only labeled as Steam Gift.

That is a very boring explanation, but it does make the most sense.

It unfortunately also means he's not making the movies fail, but rather productions that are already in trouble that need to be bailed out are the ones that go to Jared.

Liberty is still an important principle. A cornerstone for any system that fights opression. It is badly needed, and it's very disappointing that "liberal" on its own is no longer descriptive enough. But one should never confuse the branding for the thing itself. Always look at the actual values.
quadraticink.bsky.social
This here is how "liberal" picked up a negative interpretation. People calling themselves lberal not caring about liberty of others, but only wanting to be free of inconvenience of other people's problems. Which is, indeed, how you end up with the shit we have going.
notalawyer.bsky.social
the idea that freedom is in our DNA is just a misinterpretation of the fact that we’re a nation of finicky whiners who don’t like to be personally inconvenienced
internethippo.bsky.social
At least we no longer have to hear about freedom being in Americans' DNA or whatever. Turns out we love to eat shit and bow to some bloated halfwit like any other people throughout history

Seriously, Judges *do no do things like this*

They don't give their opinion to the media

They don't criticize how SCOTUS works

This is them breaking the emergency glass, folks

All of the major outlets, at any rate, which is bad enough. Independent press failing should have been a larger alarm, but I think people were too optimistic about othet forms of media making traditional news media obsolete. But you still need journalists and reporters, and here we are.

it would probably be sorta hard for just anyone to do it *this well* because it requires you to actually be normal about trans people, but still it feels important to state for the record that WE ARE NOT HARD TO STAND UP FOR AND ANY OF THEM COULD DO IT.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

I'm told, in cricket they also do the smart thing of trying to hit the round thing with a flat thing, instead of another round thing, but I might have been mislead.

The only non-AI explanation I have.

(But no, it's definitely AI.)
Louis de Funes in Fantomas raising his hands in surrender. His left hand is fake, and he has his real left hand stick through the opening in his rain coat, pointing the gun at someone in the direction near the camera.

Eep. Hope everyone's alright. Even if false alarm, that's an ordeal at an event that size.

BUT HEY!

THAT'S JUST A Segway to remind you that the FNAF creator/this movie's screenwriter, Scott Cawthon, donates the money he makes from FNAF stuff to far right politicians, many of whom are currently trying to make things worse for everyone, specifically trans people. Don't support this film.

So to clarify, the democrats are going, "Lets at least make sure the soldiers are paid," and the guys organizing a coup are going, "Nah?" This whole authoritarianism thing might be shorter lived than we dared to hope.

Just opened up mage guild interface, and that's definitely going to be a new thing to learn. There are upgrade trees here as well. Going to reserve my judgement until after I figure out how it works and how the new resource (alchemical dust) factors into it.

Heroes OE first thoughts. (🧵?)

Crunchy. Hard to judge balance yet, and a lot will come down to maps (will custom be a thing?) but solid start. Not sure what I think of the law system yet, but having two upgrade options for units? Yes! I like this. Not sure I'd ever pick not archers here, though.
Unit upgrade window from Heroes Olden Era. The window is captioned, "Choose a creature to upgrade" at the top. Two options are presented. One on the left is captioned "Skeleton Warrior" and shows a skeleton wearing tattered armor with loose arrows stuck in it, and carrying a large sword. Option on the right is captioned "Skeleton Archer" and shows a skeleton in much lighter, but equally tattered armor, and holding a bow. Both of these skeletons are shown to stand on a stone platform, almost like they are miniatures for a board game. There is a cost shown below each unit, each with an icon of pile of golds and a number "340" next to it.

Yeah, you're right. Embed doesn't help you across lib boundaries... I suppose, the only advantage is wrapping file once vs individual structs/classes.

I did play with using module data, and it is compiler-dependent, but supporting 3 major ones isn't so bad.
