(Not saying that's INDUSTRIA 2's budget...I suspect it's quite a bit lower than that.)

Give me pointy $2-3M games showcasing a strong creator's POV over yet another super sanitized $100M FPS any day of the week.

Industria 1 also has very strong HL2 vibes. The sequel even more so (I have a build).

I'm loving this low-to-mid budget but high-quality kind of throwback to early 2000s FPS design, and I mean all that in the most complimentary way.

Booted up the Industria 2 demo and immediately this hallway alone had me feeling some type of way.

Yeah, VR has never made any sense to me, other than as a very expensive niche hobby. Same for AR.

Next I imagine he'll tackle genAI.

Such a good post about game industry hype cycles. Rare in that it comes from an ex-CEO (Nexon) yet also contains deep wisdom about how broken the industry is.

If you make games and run a studio, read it.

Amazing anecdotes; if nothing else just goes to show you how informal the roles in game dev used to be, and how specialized and structured teams and roles have become in the ensuing years, not always to our benefit.

If nothing else, the scenery is beautiful!

Some superb model work for ALIENS here - that atmosphere processor is a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be, and the Queen miniature is a lot smaller!

Guillermo del Toro and Netflix have announced plans to form a new stop motion studio that will be both a studio and a school to push the medium forward and will develop plans to make Del Toro's next stop motion project after Pinocchio. I'm very hyped to see what this leads to!

When other big name directors are busy shilling for genAI, GDT constantly works to elevate practical craft and creativity above all else. Truly a filmmaker’s filmmaker and a gift to creators everywhere. ❤️

Guess California is part of Canada now.

I’m cool with it.

(Also, the “Canadian flyers” are called the Snowbirds, ok?)

With the Blue Angels sidelined by the government shutdown, a team of Canadian flyers was promoted to a starring role in this year’s San Francisco Fleet Week festivities.

DO NOT GO TO THE US.

The Trump regime has waged culture war on its own people and any visitors who run afoul of the thought police.

The regime now enforces right-wing conformity and Christian nationalism.

The risks are very high. Stay home. Travel domestically. Buy Canadian.

It was barely reported on, but Trump signed a directive equating “anti-Christian,” “anti-capitalist,” and “anti-American” views with terrorism.

Canadians: your socials and phones can be checked at the US border.

If you’ve questioned “capitalism” or “America,” you are now considered a terrorist.

AI companies are spending billions on deals with each other, which boost their value.

This has helped twenty billionaires tied to AI add $450B to their fortunes in 2025.

Meanwhile, an MIT study found that 95% of companies using AI haven't seen returns on investment.

Be warned.
