A strong legal system can't be destroyed overnight. But between court-stacking, aggressive litigation, and outright intimidation, it is absolutely possible to overwhelm the checks-and-balances of the courts much more quickly than people seem to think.

Local media reports that Russia killed Radyslav Yatsko in Kryvyi Rih. He was just 7 years old.
