Its been 25 yrs ago but a friend of mine's wife walked & left him to raise their two daughters. (He did a great job.) He did graphic design for DoD & was online a lot, but kept his daughters off. Never forget he told me, "The internet is 95% porn & 5% everything else..."

Three Japanese Type 95 tanks arrived at the NIBT Proving Grounds in Kubinka #OTD in 1945. Since they offered absolutely nothing new for Soviet tankers, they were retained as museum exhibits. One tank from this set is still on display to this day. #tanks #history #WW2 #WWII

“Undersea fiber-optic cables, which stretch over 1.2 million kilometers (750,000 miles) across the ocean floor, are being used in a new way for anti-submarine warfare. A developing technology called Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is making this possible.”

Smart strategy- targeting energy infrastructure strikes at the core of Russia’s war machine. With U.S. intel guiding Ukraine’s precision, it’s not just about defense anymore- it’s leverage at the negotiation table.

(Critical) Intelligence Studies is just nonsense. It's overtheorisation and a copy of Critical IR/Security, etc.

It's still possible to study gender, media, ethnicity, non-state intelligence without being "critical" because intelligence studies covers everything.

It sounds more like a job justification instead of distinction in curriculum.... I agree with you. There are way too many pseudo micro position redefinitions in academia that mean nothing...

I kinda prefer finding my own errors rather than having someone else announce them over a bull horn...:-)))

I try to remember that each of us has our allotment of intelligence. Some more, some less. It's a gift that elevates us above animals. We can use it well, or not.

Critical thinking is a double-edged sword. It reveals my errors, which can be ego-deflating. But I prefer deflation to living in error.

The president (or maybe not president) of Madagascar—a radio DJ who overthrew the island’s yogurt kingpin in a coup d’état—just fled the country in a French helicopter after Gen Z protests. I wrote about the most interesting island you know nothing about, with bonus pictures of me with lemurs:
The yogurt kingpin, the radio DJ coup, and the most interesting island on Earth
Madagascar is a fascinating island home to 30+ million people. It's also home to bizarre, volatile politics that virtually nobody knows about. And the president just escaped on a helicopter.

When you finally read about Malagasy politics you begin to understand why it works well as an island...

Now, I am only half-trolling when I say there is a timeline in which Finland by 2032 has more and better submarines in service than Sweden 😎

A very Happy Battle of Hastings Day to all of you who celebrate!

Gonna go wrap myself up in a tapestry and partake in a flagon of mead or two…
