This is Russia’s new playbook: make sabotage look local. GRU spies are tapping people already inside the West to hit infrastructure and sow panic. It’s cheap, deniable, and dangerous- and we need to take it seriously.

I recently read some political speeches from the 1990s - not particulary famous ones either. The sheer quality of the writing compared to today's impoverished attempts was extremely noticeable. Lucid, developed, and acknowledging other view points while still cogently putting across an argument.
I don't think it's all of it by any measure but I do absolutely believe that the political media's raging anti-intellectual streak has got worse with time and has ended up influencing the way MPs talk, and what they choose to talk/think about
I don’t think this is a “politicians have got dumber” issue for the most part. If you look at the *actual CVs* of previous cohorts of MPs, their background is not radically different when you account for, you know, the fact the economy is different! It is primarily a media and ecosystem issue.

When I was a kid Thanksgiving was a rare day that my Dad didn't work. He would always take us rabbit hunting with one of his barber friends. When we were little we'd carrying our BB guns."You might see one sitting." (Never did.) We'd beak back the brush and occasionally Dad would shoot one.

This makes me remember my Dad coming out and playing with us... He didn't have a lot of time, but the fun we had, we he did... priceless...
