This is insane. I feel like I’m going insane when I’m watching this. Not just the fact that it’s clearly their fault, but the way a heavily-armed squad of masked thugs immediately jumps into the street and brutalizes the woman they just hit, despite having no idea who she is.

It's weird that the media's identified problem of male loneliness is always women or feminism. I never see mainstream, centrists writers talk about the problem of, I dunno, too many men not being interesting, or not being willing to listen.

I honestly wonder to what degree this happens anyway? When I was a young man, the people who encouraged me to go to church waved off me not believing as a reason to not go, saying "oh, a lot of people who regularly go don't; you should go."

Dad's wife is an Episcopal Priest and it's been a trip seeing the greying of the congregations in different places and there being a kind of 'oh shit, what do we do then' thing about it with trying to be more family oriented, but also renting out the church for community services like treatment

They'll talk about, say, how Trump said he would sent the military into blue cities, and then admit how surprised they were when he did because it was against the law and norms so they assumed he'd never, and, well...

On the recommendation of friends, I have started listening to the NYT's The Daily, and frankly I'm of two minds.

OT1H, it's pretty informative w/ great storytelling.

OTOH, there's a *lot* of "the President says that all of Portland is in flames, but Democrats claim that it isn't."
