Now that we’ve all settled into the reality of what an abusive relationship can look and feel like, we’re ready for the next lesson.

He ain’t getting better.

If you want calm. Stability. You have to leave him.

It’s going to be like this the rest of the term otherwise.

On one hand, you could say there's an ethical trade-off if it is fake interactions that stem from this and on the other you realize they've probably trained on the porn sites and now everyone's likeness is thrown into the grinder.

Also shows model diversification. GPT is shit for any real project.

Farmers grow what they grow because of farm policy.

We don’t need all the soy and corn that we grow, but those are the commodities that receive subsidies and markets.

If we want something better, if we want to heal the Earth and grow food, now is the time to do it.

There is a unique ideology in America where if you take something it is yours while also maintaining that once you have something no one can take it from you.

We’re at a place where 3rd/4th gen children of settlers, given land cleared from Indian presence after fighting them off, are crying about immigrants taking resources from them. Eradicating their culture by having an Asian grocery store and hearing Spanish music at the park.

Checking in on the research director of the American Economic Liberties Project
@matthewstoller on X: Your weird insecurities aside, you consistently lie that native born Americans can’t and never have made clothes, and push offshoring in sleazy ways. Then when confronted you talk about your left wing views. You’re slime.

Cracks Widen Beneath the Market Rally

While mega-cap tech drives indexes higher, homebuilders, retailers, banks, and credit names are weakening. The real economy’s strain is starting to show beneath the surface of market euphoria.

a lot of people read like LLMs generate text: they don't actually comprehend the words so much as make a guess at what they think they are based on a few recognizable terms

One of the writers best explaining Trumpism right now is not a full-time writer, but @donmoyn.bsky.social, an academic and professor. The Times should give him a column. But for now, you can read his great stuff via his newsletter. Another sharp piece here.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Two rockets from Allen help tie it up. Defense needs to solidify, and somehow penalties are still haunting this team.

They could have had a turnover on the first play.
