Dapagliflozin showed 🚫 no significant improvement in health status post-#TAVI in the DapaTAVI substudy. While it may reduce death or worsening #HeartFailure in pts with #vhdAS, further research of patients w/ residual symptoms is needed.

Statisticians in my field have been trying to improve statistical literacy in earnest since the early 20th century. The @royalstatsoc.bsky.social has an entire section on teaching statistics. We have the tools. The knowledge simply isn't valued enough.

And one of the biggest problems in epi is the large number of researchers who won't use causal methods (and won't even do sensitivity analysis to unmeasured confounders!) but who use causal conclusions in their papers.
Gaslighting, by definition.
whoa!, was not expecting that plot-twist ending, 😲
Had a catheter-directed thrombolysis, & later was told that it was a high risk procedure.
Thanks for the added context, 🤓🙏
ooh, that’s coool!, & love the signed, framed photo there too.

NIH funded research benefits your community even if it doesn’t (yet!) directly benefit you. Each $ invested in NIH yields significantly higher return on investment (average 254%) than the same $ invested in “defense”.

NIH is a massive job creator (412041+). Non-defense spending such as NIH yields SIGNIFICANTLY higher return on investment than defense spending. In Michigan alone, $991M of NIH funding creates $2420M of economic activity, a 244% return on investment.

This is a nice paper. It faces down a common problem: in order to explain to why a common approach cannot work even in theory, we first need to teach a framework in which regression is not magic that tells us which variables on right cause the variable on left. It's exhausting.

Anyway great paper!
same!, 🤓😀🙏

interesting that the logo on the backpack isn't #nephjc blue though, 🤔 not just sayin' that cuz' I couldn't afford it, 😅 #NephjcEnvy 😅🤓😀
