OKC was headed into the 2024 draft without a second round pick (though they had like 4,000 future 2nds)

Then before the draft they traded Lindy Waters III -who was likely to be waived- for the 50th pick. Then used cash to make two subsequent trades to get the pick that became Mitchell.
