Zohran Mamdani will become the next mayor of New York City. (NBC News)

New Jersey, it is the honor of my life to earn your trust to become this great state’s 57th Governor.

I promise to listen, lead with courage, and never forget who I serve.

Predictably - the Trump/Republican response to last night won’t be to try to earn more votes, it will be to suppress the vote.

AOC: We have a future to fight for, and we're either going to do that together or you're going to be left behind. It's not about Progressive. It's not moderate, it's not liberal. This is about do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now? And the assignment is you come together…

Curious to see whether Cuomo gets a book deal or Fox News gig first.

Dear National Democrats,

You see how progressive politics can win in the cities. Now come back to rural America and help us take over the country.

This is the kind of thing which makes me think better things are possible.
WOW. 81% of women 18-29 voted for Mamdani, 80% for Sherril, and 78% for Spanberger.

Gen Z women aren't playing around.

AOC: I have to tell you, in my traveling across the country, I am hearing and have been seeing consistent things from everyday people. And it is that they are terrified, they are frustrated, they are angry, and they are shocked by a president violating the values that we hold dear

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.

The president and his allies came after him.

Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.

He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.

His politics can win anywhere.

He can’t withhold SNAP benefits, but he’s set on it. He’d rather break the law than feed the poor. Throw a snit, blame Dems, cause suffering which gives him power and pleasure - “they’re just gonna be dead.” Be hungry while he builds gilded ballrooms. He loves it.

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

A court said food stamp benefits must be provided to recipients. Trump is simply saying, not until the government reopens. We are soon going to find out if he can get away with it.

Apparently I’ve said something controversial by arguing that the future model for the Democratic Party are charismatic candidates who advocate for populist positions while never backing down to right wing intimidation campaigns. How is this even up for debate?

Here I thought Trump was finally expressing sympathy for Virginia Giuffre’s family and the other victims of his leering wing man Jeffrey Epstein—but nope, it was the Royal family and poor ex-Prince Andrew that Trump feels so badly for.
Trump says he feels 'badly' for royal family over Andrew-Epstein scandal
"That’s been a tragic situation," Trump said Sunday, after King Charles III stripped his brother of his princely title and effectively banished him from the royal family.
