If only more men thought like @jasondiamond.bsky.social and were able to appreciate, understand, and actually want to emulate the role that mothers play in raising children.
Beautiful article about a dad becoming a mom.

Finding Motherhood in Fatherhood
When I became a dad, I realized that to be the parent I wanted to be, I actually had to become a mom — my idea of what a mom is — first.

@jasondiamond.bsky.social, who grew up where John Hughes lived and set most of his movies, wrote a book about all of that. I think he's probably written more about Home Alone, but this is the most recent thing

I was high, dummy.
Men can be so dumb and unfunny. You don't need to grease a cookie sheet.
I recently got really high and decided to make some Toll House cookies. I greased the sheet with a piece of butter in one hand and had a hunk of raw cookie dough I was eating in the other. I accidentally put the butter in my mouth thinking it was the dough, but my mind said “go with it,” and I did.

My favorite part of the week is when one of the warehouses on my block gets a delivery and the truck can’t back in so it blocks up traffic until the Hasidic, Jamaican, Chinese, and Dominican business owners all unite to help direct the driver and yell at the cars behind him to stop honking.

In our house my wife is the dad, I’m the mom, and I think we’re doing a pretty great job raising our daughter that way. www.thecut.com/article/find...

I really enjoyed BLANK SPACE by W. David Marx, a look at how barren and repetitive culture has been in the first quarter of this century. My column is in Sunday's print @bostonglobe.com but you can read it here now. Please subscribe! www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/13/a...
Why is 21st century culture so bland and stale? And why does it matter? - The Boston Globe
The top two pop artists in 2006 — Beyonce and Taylor Swift — were still the two top pop artists in 2024. That's a problem, Marx says.

I hate to say this because I don’t like perpetuating stereotypes, but I feel like it’s just going to be a bunch of landlords kvetching about how he’s making them lose money and Greenblatt will be like “See? Antisemitism!”
Seems the ADL is creating a Canary Mission-like project specifically to police the ideology of Zohran’s hires. h/t @jacobkornbluh.bsky.social @petersterne.com

It’s fitting NYC elected a mayor who seems to never sleep.
Thank you, New York City. Together we made history.

Now let’s get to work.
