Are you the type of dev who just copies and pastes hex codes?

If so, I've written an article over at @piccalil.li just for you!

I take a look at some of the new CSS colour features that are most useful for those who don't really care about colours.

A pragmatic guide to modern CSS colours - part one
Whether you've got a firm grasp on modern CSS colour capabilities, or you're thinking 'I struggle to understand why I should use modern CSS colours at all', then the first part of this article series,...

The centroids on that map for the station entrances look a little off to me too? (and the "immediately next to transit" parcels aren't marked either).

I assume they're doing some kind of physics-y "right hand rule" thing or something, but you can't do that! Cats do not abide by the laws of nature.

Not to be a reviewer 2, but if the cat turns its head right to face its tail, how is that leftward?

A plan by Brazil to privatize a highway that cuts through the Amazon rainforest to create an overland corridor to Peru and streamline commodity exports to China is alarming critics, who fear the country risks repeating its history by attracting illegal loggers and land grabbers. (via @mongabay.com)

Why go back to a Walmart in 2002 when you could go back 45 years and safely experience the eruption of Mount St. Helens on May 18, 1980?

Have some respect for yourself and hold your nostalgia to a higher standard.

This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

This is like three houses away from the SB79 upzoning that would let you build 5000 sq ft in five stories (code and Newsom willing).

Former SSF Mayor Pedro Gonzalez died last week at the age of 92. Pedro advocated for South City as a whole and Old Town in particular, supported my school board campaigns, and was a genuinely sweet man. My love to his wife Eldie and family. www.gardenchapel885.com/obituaries/P...

Heads up: ignore samtools dot org, similarly minimap2 dot com and likely others. It's owned by a known phishing site and while the binaries they offer look valid currently (but note they may be serving us different binaries to others), that could change.

Ie: it's not us (Samtools team)! Be warned

To believe this you have to either have never heard of a Form 700 or believe having 100k in a 401k indicates someone secretly works for private equity.

LOL, I saw a bunch of "No on Measure A" signs the last time I was in South Bay and they were all next to "Rishi Kumar - Save Prop 13" signs.

Haven’t seen any mentions about it yet, but the Hetch Hetchy water pipeline and powerlines run under and across Don Pedro right between the active 6-2 and 6-5 fires. The Foothills Tunnel has a siphon on the west bank and delivers 165 M/gal/day to SF Bay Area (85% of water supply for 2.8M people).
Screenshot of the watch duty app zooming in to a bend on the 12 River arm of Don Pedro Reservoir with a teal line highlighting where the Hetch Hetchy pipe crosses the lake and a green dot with an arrow in the word siphon showing the siphon in the pipeline on the West Bank of the Reservoir. There are satellite hotspots shown within about a quarter mile of the siphon and powerlines. Schematic map of the Hetch Hetchy regional water system showing pipelines coming from Yosemite reservoir all the way down through moccasin across on Pedro across the San Joaquin Valley, and splitting off into pipes to be delivered to various Bay Area municipalities mainly San Francisco. There is a highlighted green section going across Don Pedro to show where the foothills tunnel is

If you have the means I think it's fine to choose where you live based on aesthetics, but we shouldn't set our housing policies based on that.

That was a hundred years before Reagan? California progressives can't even remove Prop 13 for businesses like Disney today. You can't rewrite a constitution to gain power you don't have.
