If they shut down the SSF and Colma stations, when I get RTOed and I'm forced to buy a car I'm going to drive 20 miles an hour everywhere and lay on the horn constantly.
10 stations that could close:

Castro Valley, North Concord, Oakland Airport, Orinda, Pittsburg Center, San Bruno, South Hayward, South San Francisco, Warm Springs, and West Dublin/Pleasanton

Some of these stations have significant potential for housing, but we can't get TOD without the "T".

TLDR:
ZOR filters are STATIC filters with false positives.
-Almost memory optimal: <1% overhead over the theoretical lower bound (!!!)
-Fast queries: ~100 ns
-Construction cannot fail

A thread:
ZOR filters: fast and smaller than fuse filters
Probabilistic membership filters support fast approximate membership queries with a controlled false-positive probability $\varepsilon$ and are widely used across storage, analytics, networking, and b...

THIS is the kind of horror that is in the back of my mind when I see a post along the lines of "get a ham radio in case they shut down the internet!".
Cheap HTs are not going to save us from a totalitarian state. You gotta not let that shit happen in the first place.

Radio amateurs in Belarus are being charged with "High Treason" and "Espionage". Under the Belarusian Criminal Code, these charges carry sentences of life imprisonment or even the death penalty.

The framing is dumb and I'm not a huge Papan fan, but the text just says that they won't allow e-motos to be sold as e-bikes. I don't why we need a new law for that, but I agree?

Reading through the replies/QTs and it's pretty cool how many people don't understand that this isn't real and the author makes UX mocks of hypothetical features.

Why does my stdout not have the same number of genes as my written .csv file? Six hours later I figured out that the authors hard-coded to print a max of 7,693 genes to stdout, but all genes to the .csv file. These little unexplained details can kill a bioinformatician....

My collaborator Spencer Diamond is hiring a postdoc. You get to work with a lot of awesome microbiome data, including rumen microbiome data. Spencer's a great guy to work with and has taught me a lot.

None of this is really esoteric, but in 2025 I got into Warhammer, bought a 3D printer and made replacements for things, started (re)learning piano, and grew popcorn for the first time.
u heard sharon, everyone post about their esoteric interests right fucking now. for the good of the community, we need to be hyperfixationmaxxing.
i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts
