A problem with so many cartoon revivals is that they notice that the originals had some commentary and they make it their entire identity. Even though when you look back the commentary was only a few jokes and maybe an episode or two.

Everytime someone whines for a continuation to a franchise who's story wrapped up everything by giving the franchise to another video game company/studio, remind them that Sly Cooper got that treatment and it ended up with the fanbase shitting diapers when they hear rumors about the series comeback

Alot of it imo is because Sony themselves kind of lost their identity in the middle of the PS4-era

The PS3 was the last time "Playstation" felt like a meaningful brand imo since then it's just been "Triple A games" without anything of their own

Ghost of Yotei and some responses to it feel emblematic of a growing problem I’ve felt with the PS5 where it kinda just feels like “The PS4 part 2”

So many of its defining games just feel like “more” of what the PS4 created. Here’s more GOW, more Spider-Man, more Horizon, more Ghost, etc.

The French dub of Revenge of Cronos that turned it into a sequel to Gobots was supposed to have 52 episodes, even more than the show it's dubbing, however the dub evidently didn't do well enough because it was cancelled after 35 episodes.
