Yeah but Salah’s intensity is quite clearly lower these days- not just the press but also take ons which would help us gain yardage and occupy opposition players

Gakpo’s generally been decent but sometimes he doesn’t track back well, leaving the LB isolated
Ah good luck mate! Hope the boys put in a worthy performance 🤌🙏
Yeah I really don’t know enough about him at Bournemouth to be able to analyse, I wonder if someone has an informed opinion haha

But it looks to me that he may have trouble adapting to a very high line and being asked to come in to the middle? And Gakpo hardly chooses to use his overlaps
I think attack is part of the problem in the sense that I don’t think they press well enough to cover the rest

But in terms of chance creation we have created enough to win or at least draw games, if u look at the xG
To me, winning the title last year means this year is a free hit to a large extent

So I can understand if we bite the bullet by drastically revamping the team

The team is young enough that its best years lie ahead (for our vets like VVD and Salah they’ve already won the big titles)
Book 3 of the Earthsea cycle! 👌

They abolished the House of Representatives ... solely to prevent the release of information about the president's best friend, the pedophile who ran a sex trafficking ring.
I really think that we need to talk more about the fact that Republicans have basically quietly abolished the House of Representatives
Tbf I think the most inexplicable thing to me is why does Chiesa get overlooked even when Isak and Salah are out of form/not match fit? Is there some concern about his fitness?

Once you accept that these publications broke hard for Trump because their owners are attracted to the transactional nature of fascism, every thing else makes sense.
I still maintain that the turning point was Ekitike getting sent off v Saints. Without that I think we play much better against Palace and wouldn’t have had as bad a slide

That’s my galaxy brain take 😝
I think it’s xenophobia mixed with a distaste for #LFC, tbh

Why is that someone like Saka gets more consideration every time he decides to have a lie down or that even in our team Macca probably draws fouls more easily?
… LBs we could sign

I think our starting XI v Palace in the Shield was probably indicative of how Slot wanted to play. If things had gone right the team would be more settled by now but that’s not been the case coz of injuries and form
Tbf I think Slot thought Kerkez and Frimpong would provide the width and intensity, but the latter hasn’t been fit and the former’s has been a mixed bag tbh

Nowhere near peak Robbo but at the same time Robbo is not that dependable these days and Kerkez seemed like the best option available among …
Yeah - exactly what I thought

Inconsistency is always what gets me - if this is the supposed “bar” for penalties then Salah should be averaging one or so per game (in past seasons)
Can see the merit in that post-hoc but beforehand I doubt anyone seriously considered replacing all of the front 3!

I think the Salah situation is similar to Hendo and Fab in 22/23 - no one expected the dropoff would be that steep and quick (tbf Salah still has lots of time to prove doubters wrong)
Haha I don’t doubt that it’s soft and wasn’t that excised when it wasn’t given - it’s just how can you then give the Brentford penalty, which had even less contact and it also seems that he went down looking for it?

My match review. Had to get this one out of my system quickly.

That’s an interesting point but for me it seemed like it was with measured, controlled play, then through the middle more with skilled strikers and midfielders. Winner against Newcastle comes to mind?

Not sure if I’m right but I thought Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike were signed to move on from Mo and TAA
… be not to start with players not match fit or with a significant drop off in intensity. But of course even with that I dunno how you can anticipate things like a poor midfield performance from the same midfield which did well just a few days ago
Tbh I can see what they are set up to do and attack but the problem is more a lack of consistency in execution and, more crucially, in the off the ball defensive aspects

The indicator of former for me is our generally high xG, enough to win most games; in the latter the most obvious might …
… not pressing well enough, losing the ball too causally

What I’m saying is Slot was probably right in assuming that this team would play much better than it did, though in hindsight I’m still not sure how it might have been improved
But tbf - this exact team, with the exception of Salah and Robbo starting - played well against Frankfurt. Some problems did arise on Kerkez’s side (but arguably u wouldn’t want Robbo in 2 high intensity games in a row), but IMO more of the issues came from our attackers and midfielders …
This was my take on it. The only way it made sense to me

That’s an extraordinary incident. A very soft foul the ref decided to give likely coz he thought it was outside the box - but once he had given it he was locked into the VAR decision that it took place in the penalty box

Every game there’s fresh refereeing hell to marvel at 😔 #LFC

There is a rule to dealing with moments like this. Don't talk about big picture or finish line when you are in the shit.

You have to just survive the next 5 minutes. Then the next. In our case its game to game. The league table, objectives, targets - they don't matter.

Just get out of the shit.
