West Country widow. Trying to keep the ranting down and the positive energy up. LDBH = late dearly beloved husband. KoLer. I don’t follow back if all you do is repost. I like original content.

Because Starmer didn't wave a magic wand and make everything all right overnight, the hunt is on for someone else with a magic wand. I wish our bloody lawmakers would effing grow up.
Do admit, a combination of pencil-necked desk jockeys at a council, and a fuming taxi driver, is pretty unbeatable.
Though possibly with slightly more delicacy. Sounds horrid. Hope you're OK.
I had a short snooze, during which there was a shower of rain. Consequently, the washing is slightly wetter than when it went out, but nicely rinsed, and smells good.
It does seem as though this government, while better than the last one, or its possible replacement, manages to come down squarely on the wrong side of every policy it thinks of.
Probably a dentist. Marketing can be damn subtle.
I misread that at first as “knitting my own”. Knitting new ribs would be a challenge, I thought… and reread it.
I demand a pic of the knitted owl in due course!
Gas fire sorted! There was a component I knew nothing about that needed new batteries. #Simples
I haven’t used a gas fire since the 1960s. 😂
And tomorrow: Prince Andrew killed and ate a child's puppy. More revelations as soon as we can make them up/discover them/ask AI.
Did he/she actually say that? Because I would love it, if so. 😆
The problem of a lack of hot water in shower room basin identified; solution suggested. Also, a solution to the problem of having to access a valve in the loft. It will mean more expense, of course. 🙄
Still not raining. 🤞
It’s such a relief! I couldn’t wash it on Monday, because the eye appt was 7.30am, and 45 minutes or so away. I feel nice and swishy now. 👩‍🦰
It’s a lovely sunny morning, so I have done some washing. That means it will rain shortly, I expect. 🧺
I’d whack ‘em down, if I were you, Wombie. 🤗 @wendywoowho.bsky.social
It means to run away in a panic. Perfect description for Farage.
And, isn’t skedaddling just a lovely word?
I’m not supposed to wash my hair until Monday, but… this shower has a seat in it. I reckoned with careful manoeuvres, keeping my eyes closed while I shampooed, and sitting down with my back to the water flow, it wouldn’t be difficult. And it wasn’t. Yay for clean hair!
Different strokes for different people, I suppose. But if you need something, go for it.
I'm sorry to hear that. My husband was told that paracetamol and ibuprofen, taken together, were A Good Thing. Much love. xxx
Not... not a #BBCR4 comedy, I hope… (Though there have been some brilliant ones.)
I'm assuming that #BBCR4Today will fawn all over the Reform candidate, who lost, ignore the Plaid candidate, who won, and blame everything on Starmer anyway, so I am not bothering to listen. Remiss of me, but understandable, I think.

Her paternal grandfather's family is of Dutch Jewish descent. Most of his family was killed in the Holocaust. Her grandmother's family moved to England to escape political persecution. And now she's following the Nazi route. I hope she becomes ashamed of herself one day.
The @libdems.org.uk and I have written to the Conservative leader urging her to condemn the comments by one of her MPs who said large numbers of legally settled families must be deported, in order to ensure the UK is mostly “culturally coherent”.

Tory MP criticised after demanding legally settled families be deported
Katie Lam said move would make UK ‘culturally coherent’ and that a large number of people ‘need to go home’
