nobody wants to take any steps to fix the fucked up world either. it really feels like things are just stuck in a shitty state and there's nothing that can be done because everyone who realizes something was wrong has too little influence to change anything before the heat death of the universe.

So Kilmer Abrego-Garcia will not challenge a deportation to Costa Rica, who has agreed to for him residency, but DHS won’t agree to send him there because it’s not cruel enough.

For weeks, Mr. Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who is married to a U.S. citizen, has made clear that he would not challenge his deportation if he were sent to Costa Rica, which has promised him legal residency and guaranteed that he would not be sent back to El Salvador.

But the Trump administration has refused to deport him to Costa Rica, and in an earlier hearing this week, Judge Xinis pressed the administration to consider the option or clarify why it was unacceptable.

Like the BIGGEST danger of Generative AI, particularly in Journalism, isn’t in it’s ability to fabricate lies, its instead a side-effect of that: that people will doubt the truth, even when presented hard evidence. AI is pushing us toward a dangerous cultural psychosis, where reality doesn’t exist.

Obviously they're being used as dogwhistles, so you have to be vigilant, but don't do so in a way that constricts their original innocuous usage (for example any guilty until proven innocent method) because that allows those groups of ne'er-do-wells to have total control over the expression of ideas

Letting a tiny minority of really shitty people ruin actually innocuous "dogwhistle" symbols/words (like "waffles" would be if fascists succeed at this) by letting them define what it means is giving that tiny minority power over language and expression they don't deserve.

As a gamer who LOVES doing the hard stuff, I believe that you're allowed to experience games how you want.

Playing on Easy Mode, binging a Let's Play, watching streamers, etc, there is no "right" way to be a fan.
