I have half a mind to send 311 & council emails about this because today was so bloody abysmal and Vernon has 100% been tangibly worse for traffic this fall then last year (anecdotally at least). I feel like I've had way more near misses walking to campus as of late

They're resurfacing parts of the road and paving where shoulders meet curbs (at least last time i drove past ~late last week) - no idea if that's the same stuff this week. Neither side of the road closed i think? But spurratic interruptions

I find it weird drivers can still fit 'straight' through chokepoints like Vernon off Coburg and from Vernon to Quinpool. These entrances should be made smaller & inaccessible to cars... Make the folks who live there drive up one side street to get back onto Vernon if need be

Vernon Street was an absolute nightmare today! Coburg was so gridlocked from the Oxford construction which I have to assume caused the chaos on Vernon too. Every driver I interacted with as a pedestrian made me feel like I was taking my life into my own hands just to cross a fucking intersection

I never want to see another human trot across a crosswalk, hurry their stroller/kids/mobility device or rush a senior resident through an intersection or any road. It’s ridiculous, like we’ve been gifted some incredible act of patience and kindness from our auto overlords.
