With their city caught in the country’s largest immigration enforcement operation, as many as 250,000 Chicagoans flooded Downtown on Saturday to condemn Donald Trump’s administration as part of the second nationwide No Kings protest.

It’s impossible to overstate how much “abolish ice” is the normie position now here in chicago — just countless random moms at toddler soccer on a park district field asking me where I bought my anti-ice t-shirt. average people don’t like our neighborhoods being terrorized.
A friend ran the Chicago marathon today and said he couldn’t count the number of FUCK ICE signs along the way.

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Feds deploy tear gas in Albany Park as neighbors respond to them detaining people. One person was taken, though another was freed.

“I was afraid to go over there. I got braver the more people came out. I know my neighbors have my back, and I have their back."
Feds deploy tear gas in another Chicago neighborhood: 'We chased federal agents out of Albany Park today'
A federal judge’s temporary restraining order requires federal agents to issue two warnings before using riot control weapons such as tear gas. Witnesses says they didn't get any warning.

Based on all the social media reports, today may have been the busiest Friday for ICE activity that we’ve seen since this surge started.

With hundreds of police now protecting ICE’s facility for them, presumably ICE is able to deploy more agents to snatch people.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

It's not special treatment for reporters—it's critically important to maintain the ability to document police activities after they've ordered assemblies to disperse.

Again and again, we've seen cops are most likely to get more violent with demonstrators when out of public view.
It's great that this TRO will issue. The lawyers and plaintiffs deserve tons of credit for making this happen.

But why is Judge Ellis walking back the position of the DOJ and at least one federal appellate court that journalists can't be dispersed at protests?

Fam, this is a challenging moment. We (as reporters) are trying to balance urgency of news & amplification of resistance narratives with not assisting in putting people in prison. It's tough for everyone right now with how fast videos go viral. There's a lot we are not sharing.
Pro-tip: if you have video of you or others directly intervening to obstruct ICE or de-arrest someone, for god’s sake don’t post it on social media. Or at a minimum blur faces first. You’re just begging for federal charges.

They canceled the TFR over Broadview as of 6p-ish this evening fwiw! Only the massive Chicago one remains!
Oh yea I looked while prepping for a news assignment where I was gonna fly and that plan is delayed for a bit now.
Maybe but honestly I'm sorta doubting that the FAA would approve a waiver realistically.
Possibly. My only other thought was it's the TFR for the Chicago Marathon, but this is way larger than normal for Marathon protection, if so.
The FAA just issued an absolutely enormous drone flight restriction over Chicago for the next week for security reasons. This is in addition to a 0.5NM TFR over the Broadview ICE processing facility. tfr.faa.gov/tfr3/?page=d...
