I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Look, this is what Catholicism does so well. Yes girl, BRING OUT THE MONSTRANCE. MAKE THEM SAY IT IN FRONT OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT. Martin Luther could *never*. He failed to predict the Trump Presidency and also is directly implecated. I am so serious.

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

11. Tremors (1990) — re-watch. I was probably too young when I first saw this movie, but it's one of those foundational films that made me love horror. Always a favorite.

Sums it up nicely. Every time I see some "proship dni" in someone's bio I sigh heavily because most the time it doesn't mean anything at all.

Ubisoft rejecting a game about a formerly enslaved Black man returning to the South to fight for justice during Reconstruction for being "too political" tells you everything you need to know about about the rot at the core of everything.

i'm upset that ubisoft cancelled reconstruction-era assassin’s creed because i am an avid collector of games where you get to kill the klan and i want a third one

10. Knock at the Cabin (2023) — re-watch. One of the rare adaptations I feel is stronger than the source material.

8. The VVitch (2015) — re-watch. A modern classic! I've only seen this movie once before, but I really think it's worth all the hype.

It is morally wrong to want a computer to be sentient. If you owned a sentient thing, you would be a slaver. If you want sentient computers to exist, you just want to create a new kind of slavery. The ethics are as simple as that. Sorry if this offends

7. The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) — re-watch. This movie has a peculiar place in my heart for actually triggering a panic attack. I watch it out of spite now.

It'll never be lost on me that a particular subset of the liberal commentariat in both North America and Western Europe were deeply infatuated with this woman up until the very moment she decided to talk about that one issue you're still basically not allowed to talk about lol.

It's officially October, so I'm starting a thread of all the horror films that I watch this month.

1. Sinners (2025) — somehow, I haven't seen this one yet, but it's probably the movie that I've been looking forward to the most.

I’ve been trying to put my various WIPs in some semblance of order, in the vague hopes of actually finishing something.

It’s not going well.
