What D’Angelo said Black Messiah means. It came out at the end of 2014 and it was so needed.

Article (Nolan Feeney; TIME) excerpt reads: “Black Messiah is a hell of a name for an album. It can be misunderstood. Many will think it's about religion. Some will jump to the conclusion that I'm calling myself a Black Messiah. For me, the title is about all of us. It's about the world. It's about an idea we can all aspire to. I settled on a clip from the (incredible) doc Sly Lives! (watch it now on Hulu if you haven't.) I think it's the most transparent commentary I ever heard from D'Angelo; it's about Sly, but it's really about him.

My plan was to grab a whole different clip, but this one felt right.

I just find it interesting that all these guys have these pedophile and sexual assault charges but Garland’s DOJ was unable to uncover any of it to use for leverage.

I’ve always believed that police should have to be insured akin to malpractice insurance and/or any damages should come from police pension funds.

I’ve been disabused of morality as motivation for them to do the right thing. Gotta hit them in their pockets and make them feel it.
