The press has been incredibly friendly to our military my entire adult life. For instance Iraq & Afghanistan were debacles that got a decades worth of credulous coverage. They’ll basically print whatever the Pentagon tells them—just don’t ask them to sign something that makes it official, dumbasses

The hostage release is a reminder of how bad the Dems are at politics. Not only did Biden refuse to force this deal on Netanyahu & thereby help Harris win, but most people aren’t even aware that Biden got way more Israeli hostages (over 100) released with his 2023 ceasefire than Trump did with his.

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

True but it’s not really the wrong bet if you know you can’t lose. The guys at the top of these companies only care about enriching themselves and they know they’ll be bailed out when it all falls apart. The carnage to the rest of the economy does not matter one bit to them.

I find it bleak that ChatGPT now has more users than Wikipedia. Many people would rather be spoon-fed information by a machine than read and research for themselves. Tech isn't just making us dumber. Worse than that: it's killing curiosity itself and the desire to learn.
