Car park at the east end of The Pencaitland Railway Path has been closed. This is on NCN196, and while the gap in the blocks looks wide enough maintain access, a third parked car was pulling away as I arrived which I suspect would have been blocking it for all but pedestrians and two wheeled bikes.

Dirt track, leading to car park, closed off by two large concrete blocks with the word 'closed' spray painted on them. There is a one metre gap between the blocks, and a car parked in front of one of them.

They had opened a second bagel business before the first one went into receivership. Sold a lot of the first one's assets to the second at a knock down price and tried to carry on. Then the second one, surprisingly, went bust. (As I understand it)

Kind of feels like a big deal that a Reform/Brexit Party former MEP has been convicted of taking bribes to promote Russian interests in Ukraine, and it feels like a bigger deal that this isn’t being treated as the major scandal that it clearly is.

No exceptions in Edinburgh, but enforcement is almost entirely focused on revenue protection (paid parking and permit bays) and very little on public safety and amenity issues like this.

Gone! They were cutting into the stairwell just before lunch today. Hoped they might only make it as far as the tiled wall by the end of the day, and leave it exposed, but when I came back late afternoon, the wall had gone and the elephant with it.
