The 📷 shows an apartment building in #Kyiv hit by a Russian Shahed last night. It captures the overall atmosphere in the city with painful accuracy

A hellish night of Russian strikes...We cherish every moment of life, because any moment, any day could be our last. That's why we live a bit desperately⤵️

Iain I have quite literally lived through three years of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine reporting from the front lines of the largest war in Europe since the Nazis invaded Poland.

Ok and those people should get support. 80% of pensioners in the U.K. are homeowners though, so by “many” you mean the overwhelming minority.

lmao, as I said, just entitlement and fury. The richest generation ever in human history, and all you want is more. You want your sob story on every front page in the country, and you don't even want people to listen to the young people paying taxes to maintain your lifestyle.
ozkaterji.bsky.social
I could do that happily if I had a home with a paid off mortgage. Lmao how much money do you think we have left after we have paid our rents?

Kyiv will certainly be watching the Gaza ceasefire developments closely, as there will be few countries outside of the Middle East that will benefit more from the renewed global attention a ceasefire will bring than Ukraine.

I am more than happy to have people like you shout at me for simply stating out how the system is rigged in favour of your generation over mine, and for undecided people to see the constant dripping entitlement and fury that erupts any time someone under the age of 50 points out how unfair that is.

It's not over till it's actually over.

Pensions are welfare.

You are the richest generation in human history.

Some pensioners are poor, but the majority are not.

Making pensioners less rich will indeed help poorer young people who are struggling.

Basic maths here.

I'm as desperate to see the moral abominations in Gaza end as the rest of you, and I understand why there is so much anticipation that this might finally be a ceasefire, but given how this has played out over 2 years, some caution and skepticism should probably be advised.

I have voted in every single election I have been eligible to vote for and I have been a fee-paying member of a trade union for over 5 years. Given that I'm a foreign correspondent, I'm not sure going on strike is going to do much in the way of ending the grotesquely unfair triple lock.

more than 25% of boomers are millionaires, the vast majority of power in this country is concentrated in your hands. You are our landowners, our business owners, our landlords, our politicians and the biggest beneficiaries of state welfare. AND YOU STILL WANT MORE. Unrelenting greed.

maybe you should stop buying avocados and learn to live within your means.

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

Yes, but only the Christmas version

You don’t actually have to both sides this. The Jewish community in the UK is not the Israeli government. You can just condemn the murder of two British Jews killed in their place of worship and you don’t have to say a single other thing.

"Secretary of War" Pete Hegseth brought the entire top brass of the US armed forces to a meeting so he could call them fat.

In fairness I know a lot of people who would genuinely enjoy a Douglas Alexander conference speech about bus regulation.

This thread is here to remind those people that those of us who remember will never forgive and we will never forget those who bent the knee while Russian fascism was advancing across Europe and the Middle East.

Time, after time, after time, Corbyn has defended, excused, or apologised for Russia’s hostile foreign policy positions, and the evidence for that is stark & overwhelming.

Yet his supporters continue to present the lie that he has always stood on the right side of history.

Separately from Syria, Corbyn blamed NATO for both of Russia’s invasions of Ukraine, oppose arming Ukraine, and publicly doubted the Kremlin’s Salisbury poisonings, the last of which irrevocably destroyed his opinion ratings with the British electorate.

In 2013, following the Assad regime’s chemical weapons attack on eastern Ghouta, which killed an estimated 1500 civilians, Corbyn invited notorious Assad regime operative Mother Agnes to parliament for talks.

Agnes was the leading regime propagandist calling the attack a “hoax”.
