My partner and I met some people at university and ended up having a wedding ceremony thanks to them. The only blood relative who came was my older sister. This is the special outfit I chose to wear at the wedding reception, although I actually wear it all the time… The KENZO pants are a little motheaten at the back, so I need to get them patched up. I love this outfit’s beautiful silhouette, and the complex embroidery on the jacket spices it up a lot.

It’s been a while since I participated in the Tokyo Pride parade. In an interview before the parade this year, one of the organizers opposed the use of the phrase “give us our human rights.” I was so shocked and sad that I felt like I had to do something, so I quickly slapped together a sign and jumped on the train. This is what we were wearing. It was rough being called “ma’am” over and over again as I wandered the booths at Pride. I didn’t feel like I belonged there.

This is the biggest attack on free speech since the McCarthy era but it also has significantly less popular consensus behind it than the second Red Scare. It's being done on behalf of a minority faction led by the most unpopular president in modern history. Organizing against this can win.
