I'm an Australian woman who would love to see the whole world a happier, safer place to live - devoid of wars, injustice, liars, crime, CC and cruelty to both humans and animals. Love & respect for all living creatures is the only way forward IMO.

Australian COVID-19 weekly stats update:

The risk estimate fell to 0.1% “Currently Infectious”, or 1-in-842.

That implies a 4% chance that someone is infectious in a group of 30.

Watching the #Portland posts atm and reminds me of Murdoch vs Melbourne and Dan when living in Vic during lockdown. Remember Rachel Baxendale and Sophie Elsworth, and then the time Peta Cretin arrived to "fix it"?
And Leigh Sales - that was a joke. #auspol #DanStans
Before twitter went to the dogs.
I visited Hong Kong back in the late 1970s and the whole of one of the tourist waterways was topped with floating plastic rubbish even back then.

We in Aust have no idea how much rubbish 3rd world countries pollute our oceans via poverty and/or lack of knowledge.
Yes, these ARE the MOST destructive things we ever invented.

We drink them, breath them and eat them.

Above everything else I think plastics will see the demise of all life on earth in the end.
Thanks I failed to mention those.

Remember when we thought capitalism was a good thing and then we came to realise it only created monopolies/duopolies that colluded to charge us higher prices because we no longer had a choice other than to to buy from one of the two. 😡

Capitalism?
Nuclear weapons?
Build in obsolescence?
Fascism?

All of the above plus a few more.
What was the most destructive thing we ever invented?

1. The combustion engine.
2. Religion.
3. Gun powder
4. The Internet
5. Rupert's Media
6. Neolberalism

and now

7. Artificial Intelligence
Humans are a self-destructive species.

We have just enough brains to over-populate the earth but not enough to realise we destroyed it in the process.
Truth is that if pollies don't have a super-wealthy donor/lobbyist behind them today they have no chance.

#integrity is a thing of the past especially in #auspol

Think they could create a coalition. The need to mop up all the #MPs with #integrity and #leadership to form a voting block big enough to move things along is growing. #auspol

I wish the Pocock’s ( I know they are not related) would create their own party to take on the Duopoly!

oh no, someone who deploys troops in his own cities didn't get a Nobel Peace Prize...

anyway..
Groceries now cost at least 15% more than 12 months ago. Also insurance, rates, rents, power & services etc.

Dunno anyone had a wage increase so Cost of Living has gone up...dunno where she gets her freaking figures from but they are not in the real world. #auspol
Tertiary education should be free to all Aussie students but now Unis and TAFE charge so much that only o'seas students can pay.

Worse still is that by time they get a degree it's out of date. My son an IT TAFE teacher & he feels guilty being forced to teach stuff already out of date.

They have totally messed up Universities. It’s criminal. I was waiting for the ALP to act on the mess but all I’m seeing is the ALP following Liberal party policies. Gough would be disgusted with the current crop of Parliamentarians.

“At a time when the value of research is being questioned, Robson’s story is a powerful reminder of how scientific research leads to real-world impact after years of sustained effort & support.”

It’s frustrating to see how successive Australian govts have cut science research & university funding.

Richard Robson was struck by an idea in 1989. Decades later, his story shows the importance of fundamental science.

FTA news (10, 7 & 9) now football in first 10 mins of 'News'.

Big gambling now obviously paying FTA channels to promote sport (gambling) as 'news' as though it is real news.

Outrageous.

And a more accurate headline:
'Senator booted from parliamentary sports club for highlighting lobbyists' influence on politicians'.

When cosy relationships between gambling vested interests and politicians are assumed to be normal, it's no wonder we get such shit policy. #auspol

They are selling their souls to the Devil because the Devil has more money to finance their re-election.
A Lobby Group? 95% of Aussie voters don't know about LOBBY GROUPS but really BIG MONEY is in charge of Australia.

We no longer have a democracy as BIG MONEY has control of our Govts (both parties) regardless of how we vote!

The Aust Parliament Sports Club (the one that ditched David Pocock) is now formally registered as a lobby group👇🏽

Anthony Albanese is the President of the Aust Parliament Sports Club.

That means the Prime Minister of Australia is currently the president of a lobby group.

Just utterly unbelievable.
