"Do a back flip!" Yelled the rest of Cabinet.

"I can see my house from here" mused Willis from in the helicopter.

"Spot of odd weather they're having, innit?" Said the RW voter from their private island in the bay.

"Anyone see me push?" Asked Luxon as he went back in the helicopter.

Govt to cut #JobSeeker benefit for 18 & 19 year olds who’s parents earn over $65,000, even if the teens have a disability or health condition. With #CostOfLiving & the job shortage they’re cranking up stress levels to 11, all to meet a target.
My #cartoon today about hard-nosed #NZpol
Cartoon. Title: “Job Seeee-e-e-e” Image shows PM Christopher Luxon at the open hatch of a small plane, high above farmland. He’s leaning out, and holding up a parachute pack, labelled “Job Seeker” He’s calling out to someone falling from the plane, “And I’ve kept your parachute because you kids from low-income homes need some motivation” Then he adds, “Don’t let that disability slow you down!”

Oh, so the govt wants tech companies to branch into military technology, but a 20 year old does it in his living room and it's a no-no?

Whatever happened to supporting local businesses?

Or is this another office Kash set up and forgot to tell anyone?

Fifth reason - eventually things will just get better.

When pigs fly? Guess we could sell rides across Cook Straight and boost the economy that way.

The flimflamer accusing others of flimflamming?

Does he think we're going to swallow his?

Why do I feel gross after saying that?

#nzpol

Let me guess, everything Chorus has installed is included in the sale?

So it would be yet another piece of our country's infrastructure being maintained by a private company?

Sure glad those landlords got a tax cut though. Can people cross the Cook Straight yet?

Really? Now you think you're being lied to?

It's unbelievable that this article

"Government’s books show finance minister borrowing billions to keep the lights on"

does not once mention the $12to$14Billion tax cut cost they are borrowing to cover, nor the Billions they stole from Pay Equity Fund #NZPol
Government’s books show finance minister borrowing billions to keep the lights on
Treasury has revealed the state of the Government’s finances and it shows we’re borrowing just to keep the lights on.

I mean, if we're gonna be pedants, is the King County the Waikato?

So I've just a nose on Google (a very reputable source) and it says Parliamentary Services are funded through the govt, and the fund is administered by the Speaker of the House.

So Brownlie allowed it?

Sometimes I think civis is confusing on purpose, ya know? 😅
wittyeti.bsky.social
Oh. That's convenient. Are we paying to be told this as we're driving down Te Rapa Rd? Cause I've got a few notes on the design at the very least.

At least his ones about relevant holidays are festive...
wittyeti.bsky.social
So, a few things here.

16 isn't a lot for the whole Waikato.

More stores have shut than opened in those 3 years, and more are closing.

2025 isn't over yet.

But more importantly, who the bloody hell is paying for this shit and why?

Billboard for Hamilton West MP Tama Potaka, showing the difference between ram raid numbers in 2022 and 2025 in the Waikato. There were 16 ram raids in 2022, and 1 in 2025.

I mean, they're technically right. We shouldn't be able to cause we shouldn't know as much as we do.

Strange that we do...

Either Bishop hasn't had a loved one in a similar situation as this, or he has no empathy.

*Coughing fit from years of smoking*

Yeah nah, probably both...

I mean, if I was in the situation this govt has created for young people in this country, I'd be watching plenty of Instagram livestreams for some other addresses.

At least then the burglary charge wouldn't be bogus.

Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

Apparently Shakespeare invented calling someone "an egg" as an insult, I had no idea he was a New Zealander!
wittyeti.bsky.social
Wait, AND she got the reference wrong!?

Is it possible disdain should die while she hath such meet food to feed it as Nicola Willis?

She's making me scrub up on my Shakespeare. Doing a better job teaching English to the country than Stanford.

Or is this Art History?

#nzpol
wittyeti.bsky.social
"Um, actually, it's Shakespeare."

Good one Willis. That BA in English Literature is finally coming into good use, aye?
