The grumpy old lady in me has been doing this for decades and as a single person with no kids has NEVER gotten any gift so I’m not super-inclined to contribute a lot.

I get that VA studies can have some advantages, but there are so few women represented that I always take them with a grain of salt. I know they mention the limitation, but I feel they need to try harder. (Yes, I know about the demographics of the military make this more difficult.)

I called out something along these lines in a meeting full people once. Crickets. Then the conversation continued. Showed me who the people in the room really were.

And honestly, if a man didn’t say it, a woman should have called out the men for not saying anything.

For those lamenting the news about a plan to shut down MTV, some clarification. It only affects the remaining music video channels in Europe. At this point, the brand and the crappy non-music content we see here is still with us.
