Trying to see how many different voids I can shout into. Mostly goofy tweets, sometimes sports (Atlanta Braves, Carolina Panthers, US Soccer, Carolina Hurricanes, JMU Dukes), sometimes political.

I'm following a bunch of Braves fans and bloggers on here and I'm like "Oh I know this person from the other site" and they won't recognize me cause my sports stuff was @ displaced_fan on the other site. But I don't have the energy to do two accounts here like I did on the old one.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Those are some broad, ambiguous terms laid out as indicators. Several use "extremism" as part of their term, which is subjective to the person doing the review.

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

just watched a dozen people ask microsoft copilot experts their most pressing questions and those questions were 90% “how do i turn it off?” and “when i turn it off, is it really off or is it spying on me?”

From the memory hole: There was a hostage release and ceasefire deal in place by the Biden administration 10 months ago. It was allowed to expire in March, under Donald Trump, and now it's been revived and rebranded, with Donald taking full credit like always.

Huge support to the inflatable frog costume person in Portland for both embarrassing the regime and reclaiming frog imagery from the internet right.

The Portland protest frog has done more to protect American democracy and fight fascism than all but the tiniest handful of elected officials

"Inhalers contributed to pollution the equivalent of a half a million cars." I mean, that's high, but there are tens of millions of cars in this country. Or dozens of coal power plants. Can we focus on making those more efficient instead of possibly taking away the one thing asthma sufferers need?

Dr Oz: "We have an advantage with AI. You know why? We don't think the way fraudsters think. That's just not what our minds do. The bank managers don't think about bank fraud. They want to do loans and help businesses. Fraudsters think about fraud. So the AI can think the way a fraudster thinks."

K-Pop Demon Hunters is legitimately the global cultural phenomenon of 2025 and honestly there are far worse things to be a cultural touchstone this year than a trio of young women fighting literal soul-sucking hegemony through the power of their art

Oh crap, it's back at #1 in movies again today on Netflix too. That's awesome!

Carolina wins a game they were losing 17-0 at one point. Wild game in the second half. It's like Miami forgot Darren Waller was killing us. But i'll take it!
womprat208.bsky.social
This game has gone bananas. Carolina takes the lead back!
womprat208.bsky.social
Well I enjoyed that 35 seconds the Panthers had the lead, lol.

Bryce Young so far this season:

◽️ 6 total TD
◽️ 7 turnovers
womprat208.bsky.social
Also the defense can't do shit. Darren Waller looks like the old days of Jimmy Graham shredding the Panthers.
womprat208.bsky.social
Yeah, that was a bad pick. No way the best WR in the league could catch that, and Carolina's WRs are far from the best. Sigh. Good thing the college QB class is looking mid 😑
womprat208.bsky.social
But he's gotta protect the ball. You know the Oline is weak, so that puts the focus on the QB to protect the ball. And Bryce just hasn't done that.
womprat208.bsky.social
I've been a Bryce Young defender for a while. I still think he can be great. But he's gotta be in an environment where everything else is also great, and Carolina ain't it right now. Oline is devastated from injuries, WR corps is still figuring things out, TEs are mid, and Chuba can't fix everything
