1. My father's funeral was this week. This morning, I attended my first @nihvigils.bsky.social with my family. I shared my father's story. My father immigrated from South Korea. This was possible with #NSF funding. I know we are sister agencies, but science is under attack in multiple departments.

Before COVID, there was an unstated sense of collective responsibility that has since shattered.

All the "fuck you I got mine" ppl made massive gains since then, and even ppl against them learned to ignore disabled folks who are STILL vulnerable even with vaccines available.

It is recycled baloney from the 1990s. Every one of Bob’s proposals were introduced in Rodale’s magazines or books, which were found in your local health food stores. By the 2000s, these ideas were already discredited as bunk or even fraud. Valley girl wellness is not good for anyone’s health.

Thankfully, some of yesterday's CDC firings have been rescinded.

But this should be a major scandal, not business as usual in this shitshow of an administration. It's either spectacular incompetence or an effort to make even politically untouchable positions feel precarious to those in them.
