To my knowledge it prevents establishing any usable connectivity but does not eliminate the ability to communicate with the cell network entirely, since E911 still works in airplane mode I think.

It’s probably safest to assume that airplane mode reduces connectivity, not necessarily eliminates it

I’m thinking I’ll probably lean on the FE575 for this case. I also think I saw or read somewhere about replacing the latch strike plate with one that has 4 screw holes instead of 2, and using deeper screws. I don’t recall where I got this information, but is that something you’d also recommend?

Tbh if it’s not a rapid failure and doesn’t impact the rest of the lock, I’m probably fine with that risk for the short term. I’ll stay tuned for your next recommendation, though!
